Paragould teen's big buck takedown

Paragould teen's big buck takedown

One thing you can say about 16-year-old Jonathan Boler of Paragould:  He has great aim.

Check out this 17-point buck he took down recently in Fulton County.

Aaron's "golden" catch

Aaron's "golden" catch

It’s amazing how a little fish can turn into a big fish.

Check out these catfish Aaron Hass hauled in from the pond behind his house in Paragould.

These fantastic flatheads weighed 34 and 40 pounds each.

So what’s his secret?  Instead of using stink bait or night crawlers, Aaron snagged these beauties using goldfish.  And, no, we’re not talking about the kind from Pepperidge Farms.

Nice catch, Aaron!

Round up the herd this Saturday, October 20, and head out to the 6th Annual Saving Christmas Cowboy Style Ranch Rodeo.

The rodeo begins at 11 a.m. at the ASU Equine Center in Jonesboro.

In addition to ranch rodeo events like sorting, branding and mugging, there will also be a calf scramble, boot race, egg toss, face painting and a pumpkin decorating contest.

Chow down on some home-cooking at the concession stand before hopping on a wagon for a fun-filled hay ride.  There will also be a live auction starting at 1 p.m.
