Qdoba, Everyday Chef coming to Jonesboro

Haag Brown Commercial announced Friday it has closed on a deal to bring a new restaurant and store to Jonesboro.

Qdoba Mexican Grill and The Everyday Chef will be located on Parkwood Drive facing Sissy's Log Cabin and Panera Bread, according to a news release from Haag Brown Commercial.

Nix Construction has already begun site work and completion is expected in late summer.

Dine at Colton's today and help raise autism awareness

April is National Autism Awareness Month.

To raise awareness and help families in Your Region 8 affected by autism spectrum disorders, a fundraiser will be held today at Colton's Steak House, 2309 E. Parker Rd. in Jonesboro.

From 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Coltons will donate 10 percent of their daily sales to the Autism Association of Northeast Arkansas (AANEA).

AANEA will also have a table set up by the front door with more information for families who have a child with an autism spectrum disorder.

Skinny J's coming to downtown Paragould

Soon Paragould residents won't have to drive to Jonesboro to enjoy one of Skinny J's steaks.

According to Gina Jarrett, executive director of Main Street Paragould, James Best's Skinny J's is moving into the old Red Goose Deli building, located at 117 N. Pruett.

No word, yet, on when the restaurant will open for business.

Skinny J's isn't the only restaurant coming to downtown.

Jarrett says "it's official." A $300,000 building permit has been approved for 310 South Dining and Spirits, which will be located at 310 S. Pruett.

New restaurant opening downtown

If you haven't already made lunch plans, then you might want to check out Downtown Jonesboro's newest addition.

A grand opening ceremony will be held today at 10:45 a.m. for Napoli's Italian Restaurant, 320 S. Main.

According to the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, the restaurant is family owned and they make everything from scratch.

Looking for a job? Then McDonald’s is looking for you.

McDonald’s owner-operators throughout Your Region 8 will be hosting a hiring day Wednesday, July 18.

They are expected to hire as many as 1,000 new workers in Northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri, west Tennessee, north Mississippi and southwest Kentucky.

Jobs available include seasonal, full-time and part-time positions.

Panera Bread helping to raise autism awareness

April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), autism affects 1 in 88 children. It's estimated that more children will be diagnosed with the developmental disability this year than with diabetes, cancer or AIDS combined.

To help raise awareness and support North America's largest autism science and advocacy organization, treat yourself to a blueberry bagel or a wildberry smoothie at Panera Bread.
