GR8 Job! CRA student to attend presidential inauguration | News
When President Barak Obama takes the oath of office again on January 19 a Region 8 student will be among those in attendance.
Karena Barlow has been invited to attend the Presidential Inauguration during a five-day conference in Washington, D.C.
Barlow, the daughter of Shane and Melissa Barlow and Phillip and Amy Rothe, is an honor student at Crowley’s Ridge Academy in Paragould. The sophomore is also a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Builder’s Club, Pep Club, Echo, Art Club and is a member of the CRA High School Quiz Bowl team.
In 2008 her 5th grade teacher nominated her to attend the Junior National Youth Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. That ultimately led to her opportunity to attend the Presidential Inaugural Conference.
During the conference, Barlow and other participants will have the opportunity to meet with historians, political experts and decision makers. They will also attend a special viewing party and luncheon of the inaugural parade. Barlow and the other scholars will also attend an exclusive inaugural celebration.
