Gov. Beebe appoints several from Region 8 to boards, commissions | News

On Friday, Govermor Mike Beebe announced the following appointments to Arkansas boards and commissions:

• LeAnne Daniel, Glenwood, as Pike County District Judge. Appointment expires December 31, 2012. Replaces the Honorable Dana Stone.
• Mary Jane "Mitzi" Ballman, Horseshoe Bend, as Izard County Justice of the Peace for District Four. Appointment expires December 31, 2012. Replaces Kenneth Ballman.
• Sam Elardo, Helena-West Helena, to the Delta Cultural Center Policy Advisory Board. Appointment expires October 1, 2012. Replaces April Peer.
• Vivian Flowers, Pine Bluff, to the Arkansas Service Commission. Appointment expires January 14, 2015. Replaces Toni Shockey.
• Dr. Buckley Foster, Clarksville, reappointed to the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park Advisory Commission. Appointment expires July 1, 2017.
• Debbie Fritsche, Greenwood, to the State Board of Registration for Professional Geologists. Appointment expires October 1, 2013. Replaces Charles Steuart.
• Richmond Giles, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Coalition for Juvenile Justice. Appointee serves at the will of the governor. Replaces Aaron Jones.
• Dr. Scott Harter, Little Rock, reappointed to the Medical Ionizing Radiation Licensure Committee. Appointment expires July 14, 2015.
• Bob Holloway, Little Rock, reappointed to the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Appointment expires July 1, 2016.
• Jerry Larkowski, Little Rock, to the Public Defender Commission. Appointment expires July 1, 2017. Replaces Chris Palmer.
• Nora Moses, Maumelle, reappointed to the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Appointment expires July 1, 2016.
• Ray Noel, Paragould, reappointed to the Black River Technical College Board of Trustees. Appointment expires July 1, 2019.
• Dr. Don Purcell, Paragould, to the DHS State Institutional System Board. Appointment expires June 30, 2019. Replaces Carlton Jones.
• Sherman Smith, Little Rock, reappointed to the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Appointment expires July 1, 2016.
• Dr. Herman Strickland, Jonesboro, to the Southern Regional Education Board. Appointment expires June 30, 2015. Replaces Lawrence Davis.
• Loyd Swope, Lincoln, reappointed to the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park Advisory Commission. Appointment expires July 1, 2017.
• The Honorable Larry Williams, Hot Springs, to the Criminal Detention Facility Review Committee, Judicial District #18 East. Appointment expires January 14, 2016. Replaces Mike Ellis.

He also announced the following judicial appointment:
