PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – Neighbors can now read about a local
minister's time spent as a child abuse investigator.
The Greene County Library hosted a book signing event
Saturday for William "Chris" Shelton.
Shelton wrote a new book entitled, "It's Okay, You're With
My Father: A Child Abuse Investigator's Call to the Church."
Shelton says the book took about a week to write, but he
hopes that it can help break the cycle of abuse that he saw during his stint as
a special agent.
"The biggest thing I hope people come away with this is that
there is an opportunity for the church to be involved and make a difference not
by judging people but by loving on them and providing an opportunity where God
can heal," he said.
Shelton says the book is now available at most major
retailers and online.
Each copy costs $10, but he has also donated copies to many
of the local libraries.
