Paragould PD offering basic handgun course | News

The Paragould Police Department will be hosting a basic handgun course on Saturday, June 15, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The cost of the class is $50. Admission is limited to the first 10 students. Participants must be 21 years of age or be accompanied by an adult.
According to a news release from Chief Todd Stovall, the class is designed to help the new shooter in basic handgun handling skills.
Among the topics to be covered:
- How a handgun works
- Handgun selection
- Ammunition selection
- Handgun safety
- Basic handgun shooting fundamentals
Students will also receive live-fire experience on the shooting range.
Students are required to bring the following: a handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection.
