Can you tell the difference between a hickory and an elm tree?

You will after you go on a leisurely hike through Crowley's Ridge State Park.

Tomorrow from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. a park interpreter will lead you on a half-mile hike.  During the trip you'll learn how to identify some of the park's trees.

Admission is free.

Leadership alums work to improve appearance of city

The sidewalks of Paragould are a little cleaner, thanks to the efforts of Leadership Paragould Alumni (LPA).

On Saturday, they cleaned the sidewalks near Linwood Cemetery at the intersection of U.S. Highway 49 and 412.

It was their first-ever "workday" event."

Volunteers spent the morning edging sidewalks, sweeping debris and removing sand in an effort to improve the appearance of Paragould for visitors and residents alike.

For more information about LPA, contact the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce at (870) 236-7684.
