Chief Stovall warns of new phone scam | Crime

If you get a phone call from someone asking you to donate to the Paragould Police Department, hang up!

Chief Todd Stovall says some residents have received calls from someone requesting donations for his department.

The caller says they will not send anyone to the home to collect the donation; instead, they will mail something to the donor’s residence.

Chief Stovall says:

“The Paragould Police Department has never and will never solicit monetary donations over the phone.  If you receive a phone call that is similar to this, we advise you to hang up the phone.”
