Paragould police investigating 'suspicious vehicle' claim | Crime
Police in Paragould are urging parents to keep an eye on their kids after a suspicious vehicle was spotted in a neighborhood early Thursday morning.
A group of children said they were waiting to catch the bus on Carriage Hills Drive when a gray van with a red stripe pulled into a driveway, according to an email from Chief Todd Stovall.
The children told school officials it looked like the man was going to get out of the van, but then he backed up and drove away when the children went into the house.
The child told the school the van was still in the area when she left on the bus.
Greene County Tech School Resource Officer Tony Harris then notified the police department.
Stovall said at this time his department is not certain what the van driver’s intent was, if any.
But, he would like to remind parents to “speak with their children about what to do if they have a similar incident.”
Stovall also cautioned parents to “watch for any strange activity when children will be outside.”
The Paragould Police Department has not received any other calls related to this incident, and has not received any missing children reports.
