Teens accused of vandalizing, stealing from Loose Caboose vendors

 

Two teenage boys were arrested Friday morning after police say they damaged several vendor trailers set up at the Loose Caboose Festival.

According to an email from Chief of Police Todd Stovall, the Paragould Police Department received a tip that two teenage boys were running from the Greene County Fairgrounds.

Soon after officers arrived at the scene they found the suspects, ages 16 and 17, in a nearby woods.  The boys tried to run from police but were unsuccessful, Stovall said.

A Paragould woman is locked up in a Bootheel Missouri jail, accused of writing hot checks.

According to an email from the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department, Elizabeth Ann Settlemire, 45, was arrested on 6 warrants for passing bad checks.

Her bond was set at $15,000.

She remains in jail at this time.

An ongoing investigation led to the arrest Saturday of two people on check forging charges.

John Darrin Croslin, 45, of Cave City and Carrie Mae Stanley, 26, of Paragould are both charged with forgery-second degree, a Class C felony.

They’re accused of forging two checks on the account of a Melbourne woman.

According to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence, the couple was arrested Saturday night by Independence County authorities and transported to the Izard County Detention Facility.

A Paragould woman’s arrest on drug charges marks a milestone for a newly formed Kennett police unit.

Elizabeth Friar, 22, has the distinction of being the first arrest made by the Street Crimes Unit which was implemented two weeks ago by Chief James Paine, according to an email from Lt. Tim Trowbridge, public information officer for the Kennett Police Department. 

According to Trowbridge, the unit was working surveillance detail Wednesday when they learned of a possible drug transaction in the parking lot of a business in the 1500-block of First Street.

Greene County is showing a little mercy to those wanted for not paying their fines.

According to a news release from the Paragould Police Department, those who have a warrant for nonpayment of fines issued before April 1 might be able to have the warrant dismissed or the fines dropped.

Those who have outstanding warrants for revocation of probation, failure to appear or contempt of court issued before April 1, might also be able to have the warrants dismissed.
