"Prepare" for disaster this month, give blood | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
September is National Preparedness Month. It’s the perfect time to prepare for all types of disasters, including personal ones that require blood transfusions.
By giving blood, you can ensure it’s ready and available when disaster strikes.
During the month of September, the American Red Cross has several blood drives scheduled throughout the state, including Greene County:
- Friday, September 7, 12-6 p.m. at Walmart, 2802 W. Kingshighway, in Paragould
- Thursday, September 13, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Black River Technical College, 1 Black River Drive, in Paragould
Currently, eligible donors of all blood types are needed. Eligible donors with the most in-demand and often short supply blood types--O negative, O positive, A negative and B negative—are especially encouraged to give. Every blood type, however, is needed to ensure the Red Cross maintains an adequate blood supply.
For more information on donating blood, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
