Find them and more this Saturday, May 11, at the annual marble show in the Holiday Inn banquet room in Jonesboro.

Antique marbles of all types will be on display. Experts will also be on hand to identify and appraise all marbles, free of charge.

On Saturday, May 11, almost 2,000 students will graduate Arkansas State University.  Bill Carter will deliver the commencement address.

Carter, who was inducted as one of ASU’s Distinguished Alumni in 2011, is described as a “legend in the music business world and one of the driving forces behind the restoration of the boyhood home in Dyess of the late singing great Johnny Cash.” He produced the first two Johnny Cash Music Festivals.

GCT students get dirty to help the community

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - With the weather cooperating these past few days, it's tough to find an excuse to stay inside. That might be why some Greene County Tech kids are skipping out on sitting in class. 

They aren't being delinquent though, quite the opposite. They've been benefiting food pantries and people around town through multiple gardens.

"We call it Growing Greene, with an 'e' at the end for Greene County, Community Gardens," GCT FFA member, Morgan Faulkner told Region 8 News.

Students participate in annual Ram Run

parents to be physically fit.

Elementary students in the
Paragould School District spent part of their day, on Wednesday, participating
in this year's annual "Ram Run".

Classes ran or walked
around the track surrounding the Paragould Football Field.

Senators propose limiting government ammo sales

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – Ammunition seems to be in short
supply these days because many local stores can barely keep bullets on their
shelves.

Some lawmakers are blaming an ammo shortage on the federal
government, which could see new limits placed on its supplies.

Republican Sen. John Boozman of Arkansas has co-sponsored a bill
recently called the Ammunition Management for More Obtainability, or AMMO, Act
of 2013.

PPD hosting child safety seat clinic

 

The Paragould Police Department, along with Dimensions-CPS and Arkansas State Police Troop C, will host a child safety seat clinic this Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon on the parking lot of Lowe’s, 212 N. 23rd St.

Seats will be available at no charge and will be installed by certified safety seat technicians.  They will also check your current seat to ensure it’s installed properly.  All for free.

In order to receive a seat, you must bring your child and the primary vehicle the child will be riding in for the seat to be installed.

The Greene County Republicans will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Simpkins Family Buffet, 403 West Kingshighway in Paragould.

An optional Dutch dinner and social time will begin at 5:30 p.m.
